Center gearbox or one of the side gear boxes? Do you have parts book? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------http://www.bushhog.com/uploads/documents/BHRotaryCutter3008partsPM-11.pdf

Curtis, I don't have access to a parts book at the present
It's one of the side gear boxes

Curtis, I have a copy of the gearbox assembly in front of me now

Remove the upper over. The remove the snap ring on the large end of the cross shaft. Then the cross shaft can be taped out in the direction of the removed snapring. That will free up the big gear # ***** just set it out. The center shaft has to have the nut removed, then it drives out the bottom of the case.

Curtis, how do I remove the item 4 cover?

It's a cup plug that has to be replaced, punch a hole in it and pry it out. Then you can get to the snap ring.
