koboma :

1996 model would be 7610S? Two wheel drive , with single rod from cylinder?

koboma :

Rod is held in by the four bolts in the gland , remove the four bolts, tap the gland back into the cylinder enough to reach the inner snap ring, remove the snap ring and remove the rod!

koboma :

If you have X XXXXX XXXXX, the double ended cylinder has to have the long extension on the left removed by unscrewing it, it is the gland for the left, then the rod comes out the left end.

koboma :

Let me know. Thank you.

Customer :

two wheel drive has big nut on left hand end of barrel other end of barrel is fixed with ram comming out this end i have the nut off cannot see any screws. the long extension once unscrewed does it just pull out or is there some other keeper

koboma :

The long extension just unscrews, and everything should pull out in that direction.

Customer :

the long extension goes inside the barrel it is threaded the nut on the outside is like a jam nut the extension will go back into the barrel if you bump it . is there anyway i can call you or you call me

koboma :

Site allows no direct contact. Let me make a picture and attach it. It will take a minute.

koboma :

New Holland site is not responding!!

Customer :

10-4 I might be overlooking something but this is not my first cylinder just first of this kind. I can take to shop on Monday. Just trying to finish baling hay this weekend

koboma :

After looking at it, the # XX lock nut is all that holds it together looks to me. The tube should just pull out!

koboma :

I assumed #3 was screwed into the barrel!

koboma :

??

koboma :

Look like the right cylinder?

Customer :

# X does not unscrew. the lock nut on the outside hold it in place. once the jam nut on the outside is loose is will flop around in barrel but will not come out. do I take ball joint off extension and loosen # X

koboma :

# X is just part of the packing. The sleeve should come off, the only thing that should be keeping it on would be the packing in the gland. Is it solid or just doesn't feel like it will slip off?

koboma :

You don't have the ball joint off and out of the way??

Customer :

solid i hit it pretty good with hammer and it will not come out of the barrel

koboma :

Will the rod move?

Customer :

rod moves freely in and out should it be all the way in or out to try to pull extension out

koboma :

I would not think it would matter. I just went and looked at the older unit, has the exact same setup. Shows nothing that would keep it from coming out!

Customer :

Thanks i will see sorry to bother you so late

koboma :

Thats ok, Does the barrel have any holes in it, where you might have to reach in and push down on snap ring on the piece that is in barrel? I have seen cylinders that had snap ring that would go in and snap in groove, you have to unseat the snapring to get it back out.

Customer :

I drove the extension back into the barrel and there is a snap ring you cannot see until. then the extension will come out and the ram also Thanks
