My B5200 doesnt start. Battery OK, how do I "prime" it after replacing the fuel filter and how do I know if I need a new fuel lift pump
Already Tried: nothing
The fuel transfer pump is the primer pump. Loosen the bleeder at the injection pump and use th eprimer pump to pump the fuel until all you have coming out at the injection pump is fuel, no air. Then tighten it up and start the unit. Always let it run at half throttle until it runs stady and had cleared an left over air from the system.
If the fuel lift pump/primer was priming the system, it should be ok.
I(f it does not pump as primer, it needs to be replaced.
If the injectors were ran dry, you will need to loosen the high pressure lines at the injector nozzles and crank engine until fuel is squirting out, then tighten the lines and start the unit.
??
I dont think that I know where the injector pump is. THere is a line from the tank to the filter and then a line to the round device that has two lines springing from it's head, I am calling that the lift pump as I see its photo on an order form from TractorSmart
The round device with the two lines is the primer/fuel transfer pump. The injection pump is just above it with the three high pressure lines going to the injector nozzles. The line from the transfer pump will go to the injection pump housing, this is where you would open the bleeder.
