my 9n ford tractor want run except i keep choke out. i relaced dis, cap new spark plug wires, new carb, an gas tank, itwas fin with old carb until it began to spit.that when i put new parts thanks
The choke having to be on, indicates that it is starving for fuel. You replaced the fuel tank? Did you go thought the strainer and insure it is clean , it has a fine mess screen that can plug up the fuel flow. Also on the older tractors, the fuel line from the strainer to the carburetor will become rusted inside and can not be passing enough fuel. I think a new strainer and a new fuel line from the strainer to the carburetor will take care of it.
I worked for New Holland dealer and invariably on the old 8N, 9N, NAAs, it would be the problem. The fuel line seemed to be open, but would not pass enough fuel to produce horsepower and would have to keep choking unit.
Let me know. Thank you.
