I have a Ford 5000 tractor that was leaking Powersterring fluid out the shaft seal. Once removed and the 28 ball bearings put back in as per the manual, the sterring turns fine to the left, but only part way to the right before stopping. We have attempted as per the piston at the top of bore for the sttering box as the manual indicates, with still no luck.
Already Tried: Repeated attempts.
Will the steering arm on the side of the gear box go in any position on the splines? It looks like it will.
Turn the wheels as close to straight as you can get them, the remove the steering shaft from the gear box, then turn the steering gear up and down, counting turns from top to bottom. Then center the unit, and re-install the steering arm. That should make it steer equal both directions.
Let me know. Thank you.
