My Mahindra 2415 HST sat for a couple of days outside and now

Customer Question

My Mahindra 2415 HST sat for a couple of days outside and now it won't start. I checked the safety switches I could find and they are closed. Tried to jumper the starter but it doesn't seem to engage.

Optional Information:
Make: Mahindra
Model: 2415 HST
Year: 2008
Engine: Diesel

Already Tried:
Checked all safetys I could find, all levers are in the correct location for start up, tried to bypass the starter solenoid but doesn't catch (suspect I shouldn't do this due to compression?) Can't find the clutch safety

Did the starter spin, just didn't engage the flywheel? What were you doing last time unit was used? Could the pto switch be damaged from debris or is the pto in gear? Do you have any dash activity, indicating power to the dash? Do you have a voltmeter to check the voltage if needed. I suspect it is a safety switch problem, and the pto is usually the one that gets damaged or broken. Let me know. Thank you.

Disconnected the PTO sw. and OHM 'ed it out to confirm it was closed. When I jumpered out the starter, it didn't engage the flywheel. I had my jumpbox on it to confirm power. All dash instruments are working. I'm leaning towards the clutch switch but can't locate it.

should be on the f/r pedal linkage. No damage to the pto switch wires? Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery voltage? Need to see minimum of 12.5 volts. For starter to engage the flywheel, you have to jump from the positive battery post , to the switch wire, otherwise the solenoid does not kick the bendix into the flywheel.

I checked the voltage and it is 12.5 volts. I'm going to check for the f/r sw. Is their a sw. on the clutch though? I checked for power at the starter but didn't have power so I suspected a safety was not closed.

Where did you have no power at starter? On the switch wire? Everything else should have power. Switch wire only when key is turned to start.

Got it! Found a wire disconnected under the f/r. Must have hit something and pulled it out. Thanks for your help!
