Having problems with my car starting. It started acting up

Customer Question

Having problems with my car starting.
It started acting up after I replaced the radiator about a month ago. There was air in the cooling system afterwards, and I began to have problems with car being hard to start sometimes. Other times it would start right up. When it would be hard to start, seemed as though it was starving for gas so I could press the gas pedal a little while cranking and it would start up. Now it doesn't start at all. HELP!!!
changed main relay
new fuel filter

Customer: replied 1 month ago.

how long was the gauge reading hot while the engine was running?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Five minutes tops I would say. I wasn't driving, it was parked in the driveway.

anytime a vehicle overheats for more than a few minutes, the very first thing that needs to be done is a compression test. no other test should be tried before making sure the head gasket or head is ok. it may not seem that it overheated long enough to do any damge, but aluminum heads dont take much heat to be damaged

you also have to keep in mind that 1, the vehicle ran before you replaced the radiator. 2, you replaced the radiator and it had air in the system that caused it to overheat. 3. the vehicle doesnt start anymore.

That's what I was afraid of! Was hoping for a different answer.
Expert:  david craig replied 1 month ago.

well dont freak out yet. do the compression test first.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Lol! Is there a way to do it without going to a shop?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Ot ran after the over heat, but went down hill from there.
Expert:  david craig replied 1 month ago.
