Hi Im David, did it overheat due to air being in the system after the radiator install?
how long was the gauge reading hot while the engine was running?
anytime a vehicle overheats for more than a few minutes, the very first thing that needs to be done is a compression test. no other test should be tried before making sure the head gasket or head is ok. it may not seem that it overheated long enough to do any damge, but aluminum heads dont take much heat to be damaged
you also have to keep in mind that 1, the vehicle ran before you replaced the radiator. 2, you replaced the radiator and it had air in the system that caused it to overheat. 3. the vehicle doesnt start anymore.
well dont freak out yet. do the compression test first.
go to harbor freight. but a compression test set. they are fairly cheap and then i will walk you through it
