Engine knocks when I accelerate and I use premium gas
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: I think it has always been a gas hog and yes it starts as usual
JA: What is the model/year of your Acura?
Customer: 2010 advance mdx
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?

Engine noises can be caused by a few different things, collapsed lifters or excessive valve clearance, piston slap, rod knock from a spun rod bearing. I have seen flywheel rivets come loose causing a knocking noise.

This is tough to diagnose without being there to actually hear it.
