Acura Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Does the car run rough? Is the light blinking at all now? Did the auto part store clear the code for you?
Most likely you will need a tune up and maybe one of the coils . We see the coils fail on these from time to time. I would start by replacing the coil on cylinder #1 and see how it runs. It is almost never necessary to replace all the coils ,So just replace the bad one. They cost about $120 each. The best way to test them is to unplug each coil one at a time and listen to the engine. Every time one is unpluged the engine will slow down, If you unplug one and the engine stays the same that is the bad one. There are other things like a stuck EGR Valve or vacuum leak that can cause this but when it only codes on one cylinder it is almost always a coil.
