My 2007 Acura TL is having intermittent electrical problems.

Customer Question

My 2007 Acura TL is having intermittent electrical problems. When my car is completely shut off the front headlights will come on during the night and drain the battery. This is sometimes accompanied by a clicking sound, but not always. Could this be a bad relay or bad ignition switch?
In order to get my car to start the battery must be unhooked and reattached.

Hello, I will try to help you with your concern.

first do you have any aftermarket accessories installed in the vehicle? alarm? remote start?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Hi,
No I do not have any aftermarket accessories installed on my car.
Thanks
Expert:  HONDASERVICE7791 replied 11 months ago.

ok thanks for the information. It is very possible that the relay could be sticking on causing your battery drain.

two ways to verify, disconnect the relay and see if the drain does not occur.

switch the suspected relay with another like relay and see if the problem moves to the other circuit or doesn't occur

do you know which relay it is?
