Acura Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello, did you have a check engine light issue you were trying to solve? If yes, what was the code?
so why may I ask did you change the egr valve?
yes isn't quite the answer I was looking for. you just decided to change the egr valve because the vsa light came on?
who or what told you to replace the egr valve?
no it is possible for the egr valve to cause the vsa to come on. Most of the time the checkengine light will come on as well.
the correct repair is to replace the egr valve but to also clean out the egr passages as well. They get clogged with carbon and replacing the valve by itself doesn't completely fix it.
this is all said and done if there are no anti-lock, traction control codes stored in the vehicle.
you cleared the entire passage?
well if that's the case there must be a traction control code stored in the car.
as I stated usually if there is a egr issue, then the check engine light will be on too
did you do the work or did someone else?
ok in order for me to give a proper diagnosis I need the entire information, I am not in front of your vehicle so I can't see what was done or not done. Early in our conversation I asked you if the check engine light was on and you said no, Now you said it was on originally!
What was the original code for?
I can't help you effectively if you don't provide me with the correct information
ok what you will need to do next is have the vehicle scanned for codes. there must be separate codes in the traction control system causing the light to come on.
I can't tell you or guide you to a repair until I know if there are any codes.
you can keep this thread open and post here after you get the car scanned
your welcome. just post whenever you have any codes for me
