my 2003 acura mdx has a ABS light on. how do i correct this?

HI,

What are the ABS fault codes?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

not sure how do i get those

HI,

Ok, this can only be done with a scan tool with ABS capabilities. There are around 25 ABS fault codes. Without knowing which is set, it would be a wild guess on whether it was one of 4 ABS wheel speed sensors or their reluctor rings, or a wiring harness fault, abs hydraulic unit fault, or ABS control module fault.

Once you have it scanned for fault codes and can post them here, I can further help in the exact diagnostic procedure and repair.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

OK i will get those and get back to you thanks.

HI,

Ok, sounds good. I am here everyday of the week. To leave this open to reply back with the fault codes, just dont reply to this post now. That leaves it open for 7 days to reply back to

p420 , p134, p2213

Hi,

Ok, these are powertrain codes for either engine, transmission or emission controls. The ABS codes are "C" codes.

P0420 is for the catalytic converter
P0134 is for the rear O2 sensor

The bad rear O2 sensor can set the P0420 as well, so this is repaired first and if the P0420 returns, then the catalytic converter is replaced.

P2213 is not a valid code for your acura. It is only for diesel engines, so may need to recheck that one.

Hi,

for 13-1, check wiring harness for broken/loose wiring going to the left front wheel speed sensor. If ok, replace the sensor

for 68-1, do the brake lights work?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes the brake lights work

HI,

Ok, you will need to do the following test.

Measure the voltage between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 15 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage when the brake pedal is pressed and less than 1 V when it is released?
YES - Check for loose terminals in the VSA control unit 47P connector. If necessary, substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit, and recheck.
NO - Check for open between the brake pedal position switch and the VSA control unit 47P connector No. 15.
