My Alpine navigation system is dead. Sent back to Apline in CA and they say there are no parts available to repair and sent back without charge. This is a 2002 MDX. I will not pay over $2000 for a replacement, but can I make the rest of the display work without a new exact replacement unit? Now we have no display and cannot change AC fan, get fuel/milage, etc. I would buy a Garmin if there is a way to make the rest of the electronics work.

Really not what I wanted to hear. Hard to believe that you cannot use the rest of the functionality of the car without the unit. I will try who you recommended, but this is such a great car and in such great condition it is very frustrating to hear that we can no longer have any of these electronics working. Alpine says it is the laser reader and there are no parts available any longer (hard to believe on a 10 year old car, but who knows how old it was when Acura put it on the vehicle) so I doubt anyone else would be able to repair. Just because I don't like the reply does not mean I fault your answer or speed to answer.
Sorry about the bad news . I just wanted to be honest with you. Try shop in the link they are independent and sometimes they can find other vendor parts . Or maybe they can just have other options.I have dealt with them before and they try to help. Your other option is to Try to find a used unit on E-Bay or Craigslist.
