Hello welcome to just answer I am master tech and will be able to assist you today. is the car over heating or just the oil reservoir having some oil in it. how much oil is in their or just a lite oil film ?
It climbs towards the red line when driven atleast 10 min and the heating/cooling air system is on. If i have it set at cold the temp gauge will climb towards the red line, if set on hot the guage will drop slightly. When driving the same distance with the air system off the car will maintain good temp. Small amount of oily goo in the resevior and no coolant. Tried to add coolant, but when i took the radiator cap off there was oil residue there as well and could not add. Car has 112,000 miles and always did routine oil changes and light maintaince. When I check the oil it looks great, no coolant in the oil. A little baffled
the acura engine will NOT mix coolant and oil like other engine manufactures .
when you actually get oil in the coolant then theirs a issue with the head like it been cracked...
we do see the head gaskets leak on these and it's a pretty straight forward repair. send the heads to get resurfaced and install a new head set.
I can send you the directions to do this if you want.
also when the engine is getting up their in temps do the fans come on ?
