If you look at the hood latch you will find 2 wires coming off it. Just follow them to the connector and unplug it. Once you disconnect it connect the 2 wires on the car side together. This will make the system think the hood is open and iy will not set. If you do not connect the wires together the alarm will set and if the hood switch is bad the alarm will not go off by itself. The hood switches do go bad so it may be the whole problem.

The hood latch is the part that locks the hood down. If you open the hood it is right up front in the center. You may have it! The 2 wires are in a black plastic cover. The plug should be gray.

You should be able to diconnect them from each other but if you are worried about fixing the alarm then just cut the wires.

You should be able to leave it that way. The alarm will not go off by itself anymore if the hood switch is the cause.

Cut the 2 wires from the switch and connect them together. It will stop the alarm from setting.

I would leave it disconnected for now to see if that still happens or not.
