I have an acura rsx 2002, started up drove 1/4 mile & shut down, will start, but not idle you have to keep your foot on gas, shop says code PO341, have replaced both cam sensors to no avail. pulled front off checked timing(OK), replaced vtec valve, nothing seems to work. Smeels like raw fuel coming out tailpipe. all cylinders have 125-150lbs compression, have also tried map & crank sensors, nothings helping. HELP
Year : 2002
Make : Acura
Engine: 2.0 K20A3
both cam sensors, crank sensor, map sensor, swapping injectors, installed vtec solenoid, pulled front off to make sure it had not jumped a tooth on timing chain, compression test cylinders, unhooked O2 sensors to check exhaust issue
Hello welcome to just answer I am master tech and will be able to assist you today.
I'm not seeing any feedback. It may be a better way to get in contact w/ me via text message, I can't stay on computer for 30-45 minutes waiting. so if you could text me corrispondance to XXX-XXX-XXXX. or post something. I appreciate your commitment to the profession to become a "master tech", but I don't see any answers for my money.
Hi, Different expert here. Two different things could be happening with it. First there is a bulletin HERE that has VTC replacement (which it sounds like you did already) and a ECM/PCM update. You may just need this update from the dealer at this point OR The other thing is the cam chain may have stretched. Click HERE for that article and HERE for the job aid that tells you if you have a stretched cam chain or not.
Ok something else here, the plugs on the passenger side far left as well as the one next to it were soaked in fuel, & it smells like raw unburned fuel out the tailpipe, as well as the cat glows cherry red, now I know the cat glowing red means it's getting too much fuel, but why would it be pouring fuel out pipe? I switched injectors around, & same thing happened, so probably not injector
Bad fuel pressure regulator. I would get a fuel pressure gauge on that engine and see what you have at the fuel rail next.
ok, on moday we are pulling computer & sending it to be reflashed, vehicle had 55 lbs fuel pressure! any more suggestions?? I sure hope the reflash helps
Did you check the fuel pressure regulator?
