Customer Question

I have upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I have been using Microsoft Money 2006 and prior and have all my financials from 2002 thru July 2015. I use this data for income tax filing as well as my budget etc. When I try to open Money I now get a message that I must install Internet Explorer 6 to continue using Money. When I attempt to reinstall Explorer 6 I get an error message and I sent it to Microsoft and the connection is dropped. I have never used any banking access through Money and therefore I do not need that function.
Is there any way for me to recover my account data?

Hi, I'm Robert and I'll be helping you with your financial software question.
that seems to be a bug when it runs on win 10
there is a registry fix that worked for somebody yesterday.
i believe that this is it
Open Registry Editor (RegEdit).
Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
In the right pane, look for Version registry value.
Modify the value date to 9.11.10240.0.

this page has a little better description of how to do it
https://techjourney.net/microsoft-money-requires-internet-explorer-6-to-function-properly-error-in-windows-10/
you need to hold the windows logo key and hit R
in the run box type
regedit
hit enter
that starts the registry editor
then double click on
each entry till you get down to the one that you need to change
I am able to log in remotely and do it for you if you dont want to mess around in the registry yourself. I have put up an offer for additional services that you would need to accept if you want me to do that.
