what program are you using ?
quicken you should just be able to select the line and then hit ctrl D or right click and select delete
If you are using quickbooks it might have problems if the entry is tied to an invoice
the other thing that you can do in either of them is right click the entry and select match. That should allow you to match it with the other entry and combine them. This is often necessary when you enter a check manually and then download the same check that the program can not match automatically
Our company just installed Quickbooks on our Mac
I downloaded information from our bank.
I was in the process of matching items that would then go
to the check register. In the process there were duplicate entries
because I must have force-posted somewhere (maybe using
the "add one" selection when I didn't know it (??) - not really sure how the duplicates showed
up. The first transaction date that I'm verifying has several duplicates
(by duplicates I mean it posted on the check register 2 additional times other than the original). I think it is the entry in the register with the check mark that I don't want to delete but when I right click the other duplicate entries there isn't a delete option...and it won't let me hi-lite the entire entry to choose what to do (??)
Thank you for your time, I'll take it from here.
You are very welcome.
If I was of help I would greatly appreciate if you gave me a good or excellent rating. If you don't rate me the site will keep your money but I will not get paid.
