Customer Question

I have been running Quicken 2000 on my computer under Windows XP. I have now got a PC with Windows 8 which will not load Quicken 2000. I don't want to lose all my data so is there a financial software package that can take all my Quicken data and support it that runs under Windows 8?

Hi there, and welcome to JustAnswer, I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.

There are a series of steps to upgrade the data from Quicken 2000

first, make a backup of your data in Quicken 2000

Than you need to install (free) Quicken 2004 from here

Once installed, restore the backup file from Quicken 2000

Than make a backup file in Quicken 2004

I than advise you to purchase Quicken 2013 as this is the compatable version with Windows 8.

Quicken 2013 will be able to restore the Quicken 2004 backup file you made.

Please Feel free to ask if you need more information or assistance

And if you can rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I am based in UK so Quicken 2013 does not apply

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Correct, I did not see you were UK

Acemoney is not specific on which version they restore from.

Can you convert the data to Quicken 2004 via my previous instructions.

Than use the 2004 file in Acemoney please?
