I am running QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2012 Release R15P. For the past few days, the program keeps not responding. I use task manager to close the program I am then unable to re-open QuickBooks, because the program wll not respond, without first having to restart my computer. I have rungthe Verify Data utility and there are no problems with me data. Any suggestions?
Already Tried: I ran the Verify Data utility, and it stated that there are no problems with my data.

Can you please verify which version of QuickBooks you are running?

Release 15 for QBooks 2012 doesn't exist. Version R9P was released this week.
Your problem sounds symptomatic of release R5P, in which case you are 4 version releases too old.
So sorry, I meant QB 2010 R15P. Also, I am running the software on Windows 2007.
OK...no problem.
In any case, doesn't sound like a QB problem per se. It sounds more like a memory or files/handles issue within Windows itself.
QuickBooks can be slow to open or not open at all if there are other programs left behind clogging up memory. Did you happen to notice if QB opens properly if you RESTART the computer and use QB as the first program you open?
There also could be problems in opening the registry or other libraries.
The best way to diagnose this is to have a debugger log all the files opening and closing when you start QuickBooks. Unfortunately, Windows itself does not have such a debugger. This is a technical tool that I cannot advise you how to use here nor take any responsibility for its misuse.
If this answer is not satisfactory, I will gladly Opt Out, as you may need a Windows technician rather than a QuickBooks specialist to resolve.
Hi thereCan you please go to Start, Control Panel.Click Programs, Uninstall a Program.Click on Quickbooks and If you see Change, click on this than Repair.this will run a repair on QB. If you do not see this option, please let me know
Hi. Actually another expert has already assisted me. How do I close this out without dinging your record or paying the fee twice?
ok, I was actually your original expert. You do not pay twice, regardless of the amount of experts or messages sent.If you actually want this solved, let me know please, else I can organize a refund for you.
I already ran the QB's Verify Data utility, and it stated that there are no problems with my data. By the way, just to confirm, I'm actually running QB 2010, not 2012 as originally stated. And I am using Windows 7.
yes I saw, did you see my last instructions?I will repeat them for you. We are attempting to repair the program, not the data, as this is where the issue isCan you please go to Start, Control Panel.Click Programs, Uninstall a Program.Click on Quickbooks and If you see Change, click on this than Repair.this will run a repair on QB. If you do not see this option, please let me know
Done. I received the following message: Error 1334 The file "Ilxact3res.dll" cannot be installed. It then advises me to go to www.quickbooks.com/support/update.html. However that link is broken or the page is no longer available.
