I have Quicken 2002 basic and I need to un reconcile an entire account. Can you help me?Bill Beierwaltes XXX@XXXXXX.XXX
Already Tried: I googled for answers but no joy. I backed up my data and now have a test version running. Other than that, I've been afraid to blow up my database.
Can you go into more detail what you are trying to accomplish? Is this a bank or credit card account? Why do you want to do this?
This is a bank account. I want to start from the very beginning and clear all reconciled "R's" so I can start again. I have all of the monthly statements and I'm okay with the effort of checking checks and deposits to make beginning and ending balances agree with the statement.
Unfortunately, the only way you can do that in your version of Quicken is to go to each transaction and remove each R. If you have been using it for 10 years, that is going to take you quite some time. You might try removing any balance information you entered and then go back and manually check your account against your statements. Probably somewhere along the line, you cleared a transaction that hadn't or entered one that never existed. This sounds like a recent problem. You could also just start tracking your bank account as a new account as of 1-1-12 and transfer the balance from the "old" account to it to create a starting balance. You will want the ending balance as of 12-31-11.Let me know what you end up deciding to do.
