Customer Question

I can't get my quicken numbers to type into the columns. I have to use my little computer next to the spot. I obviously hit something wrong, can you help me?

Calling and my system is too old for them to help me, if you can believe it.

I can certainly believe the too old for them to help part. Quicken only supports its software for 3 years.

What version are you using and can you be a little more descriptive about the problem ? I dont know what you are putting in where and what the "little computer thing" would be.

If you can send me a screenshot that would help a lot to see what you are talking about

Screen shot instructions

hold alt button down hit print screen button release buttons

click start menu / all programs / accesories / paint

click edit / paste

click file / save as

save as a jpg file in my pictures

on the top of this window click the insert button it should be a paper clip to right of the smiley face.

click browse.

click browse in the 2nd window that pops up

browse to the file you just saved in my pictures

click ok

click insert back in the first window

O.K. I found the smiley face and paperclip. Sorry about that I was looking at top of computer. I told you I don't know much about this sort of thing. Anyhow when I hit browse, nothing happens. What do I do now. You have probably gone home, I am so sorry but I can't miss my treatments and didn't realize that it would be a long time before you would get a chance to respond. As I said in my reply I have 2008 quicken updated from 2000. The columns are in my bank account files and they are titled payment and deposit. Again the little calculator next to each column is not a computer sorry I screwed up about that. Any more info you need let me know. I will check my computer first thing in the morning which will be about 7:00 PST.

Not a problem i am here on and off every day. Whenever you can post in i will see it and answer when i log in. I may be gone for today very soon though.

are you talking about a new entry or editing an old one ? You should be able to just click on the cell in either of those columns ( although you can only use one as you cant have the same transaction be a deposit and a payment )

here is something silly that it might be. do you have the number lock set to on for your keyboard ? If you try to type a number from the numeric keypad part of your keyboard and the number lock is off it will send something like a right or left or up or down arrow rather than the number. As those columns only accept numbers quicken will ignore it or move to a different column rather than putting in the number that you thought you put in.

That was it my friend the stupic numbers lock button. I obviously hit it accidentally. Thank you so very much I truly appreciate it., I'm also sorry I made you wait until today, but I didn't have a choice.

Customer replied335 days and 3 hours ago.

Very satisfied with my expert. 'Thank you so much but It won't click on for the highest smiley face but that is where I was trying to go. Also Bonus would be appropriate for him. Thanks again.

Not a problem. Some times the problems that seem the craziest have the silliest causes and we all make them. You will notice that almost any time you enter a password XXXXX it reminds you to check the cap locks button. Thats because so many people have gone crazy because they didnt notice it was on.

I would apreciate if you would try to give me a good rating again. But if the site wont let you i can have it worked out manually from my end.

thank you once again.
