I am trying to find out how Quicken Payroll conpares to Quick Books Payroll
Already Tried: Calling Intuit
I will make this as simple as possible. Quicken should NOT be used to run a business if you have more than casual sales or more than you as the employee. Quicken is NOT a double-entry accounting system and is not sufficient to run a business.
QuickBooks is a double-entry accounting system. If you do not know what this means, suffice it to say that you absolutely NEED double-entry accounting if you are ever audited.
That being said, the Quicken payroll system itself has the same engine as QuickBooks most basic payroll. QuickBooks is 100 times more robust in handling much more sophisticated payroll issues.
If you are running an S-Corp and you are the only owner, you can get by with the Quicken version. But again, it is not recommended.
For Get it I have been doing my own Bussiness through Quicken for years. I only use Quick Books for a family member who has employees and am trying to find a cheaper way there has to be one out there and I like Quicken Report handling, I can get a much more detailed report and include and divide the categories and Accounts etc. much better. I'll Just have to goggle and see what I can find surely Intuit is not the only good Payroll Program.
Right. The cheapest is the best. Have a great day!
