I have E-filed a return, that turbotax filing instructions say that it is for direct debit from my bank account. The printed Form 1040 does not show on this opn the printed copy.Where does this leave me,and what needs to be done?
Already Tried: Nothing yet.
Hello,
If you correctly entered your routing and account number into the Turbo Tax system, direct deposit should occur. Print out the Efile "Accept" confirmation that you receive for your records (it should be emailed to you). Within 72 hours of acceptance, you can check the status of your refund using the "where's my refund" online tool:
http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html?portlet=8
It will tell you the status of your refund, and whether or not you will receive a check or direct deposit and approximately when.
Please let me know if I can assist your further.
It return is for Debit as I said, not Refund. I don't believe your answer will help.
I am so sorry...I misread debit for deposit.
Here are the instructions for checking on your electronic withdrawal: (you should allow at least 72 hours after acceptance)
If You Need to Inquire About Your Electronic Funds Withdrawal Payment
You may call 1-888-353-4537, to inquire about the status of an electronic funds withdrawal payment. If there is a change
to the bank account information included on your return, you should call this number to cancel a scheduled payment. You
should have available the social security number of the first person listed on the tax return, the payment amount, and the
bank account number.
You still do not understand my question, that was that the Direct Debit information did not print out on the Form 1040 , where the imformation is for Direct Deposit is shown. After going back and checking , I can not find any way to show it there. It shows on the Federal Information Worksheet only, so I assume that the work sheet goes to the Fed's My consern was that information did not show. Maybe I don't have a problem, is that correct? I will be happy to pay the fee for your time.
I am sorry that I don't understand what you are asking. The area on the 1040 is only for direct deposit (not for direct debit) which is why I thought you were asking about direct deposit originally.
Turbo Tax does not do a great job documenting your return preferences---but if you input the information correctly, you should expect a direct debit on the date that you chose. What about the email that TTsends you to tell you that the IRS accepted your return, does it say anything about direct debit?
If the direct debit does not occur, you should call the number that I provided. If that number has no record of a direct debit, you will need to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to ask if your return has been received and what happened with the direct debit.
