I installed my Qicken 2006 on my new computer. I then restored a backup of my file from my other (older) computer. After restoring the file on the new computer, the printing preferences were replace by those that were on the old computer. Nowe I can't print anything, & I don't know how to change the printer preferences.
I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling the Quicken program. I have tried printing both checks & reports on any of the printers listed on the Qicken printer screen. I have been able to print nothing.
what operating system is the new computer ?

If you are running windows 7 on the new computer quicken 2006 is NOT COMPATIBLE.
The reason it is not compatible is prmarily because it wont print.
You would need to upgrade to quicken 2010 or 2011
2009 and some versions of 2008 are supposed to be compatible but that is according to quicken not microsoft. 2006 is definately not compatible though.
I do have Windows 7 Professional with XP mode.
If I purchase a 2010 or 2011 Quicken, once I install it, can I expect the printers that are actually conected to my computer to replaced the others in the Quicken printer preferences??
Yes when you install the new version you can then go to
file / printer setup
and it will let you select the printers from the list of printers that are installed on the computer. I assume the correct printers show up in the printers and faxes folder and you can print to them from other programs on the computer.
Before I 'accept' your answer, I want to actually install amnother version, to make sue that this is the answer....I will get back to you!
