i have quicken for mac and have the current r3 update. however, when i try to connect to my bank for online payments, etc i keep getting the [ol-293] error message. i have contacted my financial institution several times and the problem still has not been resolved. help!!
Already Tried: getting the r3 update installed which was not easy! but problem persists.
How long has it been happening? That particular error is usually on the banks end. It says that quicken found the server but got a bad response when it tried to establish a connection
You can try resetting the account link that sometimes helps but usually that is a problem with the bank. Also many smaller banks ( and even some of the large ones ) really have no clue what is going on with their web services because it is handled by a different department or even a different company. They tend to just say "Oh Im sure its working. They havent told us that it isnt"
first go to the bank/financial institution's websitemake sure that you can sign in and access the correct account using the id and password XXXX you have
then open quicken
go to tools / account list
edit account details
under online services tab
click remove from one step update
close the box close quicken reboot the computer
open quicken
click set up one step update / web access
go through all of the prompts to enter they type of account the name of the bank etc
put in the user id and password XXXXX
that redoes the entire quicken connection which seems to work a lot better then just playing with the password
