I have a clear ice model CLR2060 that stopped releasing the cubes it just builds up a big ice block. The unit has been working fine for years, i vacuumed the coils & ran it thru the self cleaning mode but that didn't help at all.

Hi. let me see if I can help...

The manual indicates that if the ice is slow to release or will not release to run it through the clean cycle.. which you have done but, how often do you do it normally.

It may be an issue where it needs to be ran through the cycle a couple of more times if you have not cleaned it on a semi-annual basis.

Also be sure nothing has changed as far as it being level and surrounding air temp must be at least 50 degrees F.

Also, are you using the U-line Ice Machine cleaning solution during the clean cycle?

Now.. if the answer is Yes to most or all of these questions... then we need to look for a mechanical problem.

Quite possibly the problem resides in the harvest cycle, when the unit calls for the ice to be released.

This can be the ice thickness adjustment assy, or the control board. If you try to adjust the ice thickness, be aware to do it in small increments and then you have to wait 24 hours for the adjustment to be seen...

If the ice thickness doesnt change and the problem continues or worsens then that would appear to be the culprit and at that point you will need to have a licensed refrigeration tech come out and do further testing and repair. These units are not designed for user repair.

I should have told you this up front could have saved you some writing, before I injured my back I was an HVAC tech for years. The machine is actually at the church I attend I doubt it has been maintained as it should be. I will order the cleaning solution & go that route a couple times & go from there as far as level & outside temp its been in the same spot since 06 & this has never happened so i doubt those apply. If cleaning doesn't work I'll try the adjustment & I'll let you know either way but it will be at least a week before I have any updates. I don't know yet if your advice fixed it but it was helpful thanks.

Let me know... partstown does not list any manuals for u-line, but you may still be able to gets u-line parts there... I'm sure you know of a local parts house to get the parts if necessary...

ok so i got the cleaning solution and went to run it thru but when it switched into cleaning mode it just seemed stuck not for a moment or two but for like 20 minutes, twice. any suggestions before i call out a tech.
