HI, My name is ***** ***** I am happy to assist you. This would be determined by the reason they detained your contact. You will need to contact this number here(###) ###-####to speak with the security to see what you can do if there is anything that you will be able to do. not knowing the reason of why they are detained the best route to the next step that will need to be one.

Please let me know if you need further help or have more information for me to go on.

Thank you for your patience. My apologies for the delay.

Remember that I do not get credit for doing my job here, unless you give me a positive rating. So kindly remember to give me a positive rating before leaving this site today. I do not get a salary here, so your positive rating is the only way I am rewarded for doing my job. If that does not happen, it is as if I never worked, which I am sure you agree would not be an ideal outcome. So please do not forget to give me 3 or more stars, or any smiling faces, in order to help me get credit for doing my job. Thank you!

First, this is not a TSA issue. The TSA does not exist in Ghana. This is a matter related to immigration and emigration.

Second, the TSA does not exist in Ghana. Ghana airports have their own security apparatus, which deals with travelers. From that information alone, I have serious concerns about this supposed friend who is attempting to leave Ghana.

Third, neither Ghana nor the United States require payment or cash in hand for anyone to leave Ghana or travel to the US. The cost of a visa to travel to the US costs less than $200. There is no Basic Travel Allowance, not Exit Fee, nothing of the sort.

Note, this is a very common romance scam. You meet someone online and form a relationship. Then, after some time, they tell you they are getting a visa and need money. Then it gradually progresses to asking for more money, claiming it is needed to be able to come to the US. That is not the case. There is no such fee other than the visa application fee.

Here is information on these scam, from the US embassy in Accra Ghana: http://ghana.usembassy.gov/romance_scam.html

And here is information from the Ghana immigration authorities as well: http://www.ghanaimmigration.org/FAQ.html

So I highly recommend that you do not send any money to this person, and to stop all communications with the person all together. It seems they are trying to take advantage of you.

I know this can be confusing. If you want a 30 minute phone call to discuss this or anything else, let me know. I can send you an offer for that.

I hope I have answered your questions. Kindly rate my customer service with a positive rating so I get credit for doing my job. This is very important. You can do that by giving me 3 or more stars, or any of the smiling faces. And you can keep asking questions even after you have given a rating.

Negative ratings are reserved for Professionals who are rude or unprofessional. Giving me a negative rating does not help you get a different answer or outcome. So do not give a negative rating if you need more help, or if I misunderstood your question. Instead click REPLY so I can continue to assist you.

A BONUS is appreciated, if you feel I've earned it.

If you have questions in the future, write “FOR JAMES" in the question and I will be your personal Expert in this category.

Thank you!

I did not say she was in Ghana. She is being held in San Francisco because she ihas in her possession a check from Gold they say she smuggled here from Ghana and was sold in Baltimore and now has check in her possession after being in Baltimore/Seattle/Salt Lake/and now San Francisco. Document after document as I do believe the TSA is also corrupt
Expert:  Longhorn Lawyer replied 11 months ago.

Oh, OK. I understand now. No, the TSA does not deal with the gold or any other goods coming into the US. They are not an enforcement agency. They are a security agency that ensures the safety and security of travelers. That is within the jurisdiction of Customs and Border Protection (CBP). So to answer your original question, no the TSA does not fly people back where they came from.

Kindly remember to give me a positive rating before leaving this site today. Thank you!

Hi, This is a scam do not pay them any money! The TSA does detain people but will not ask for money as what you have stated. Please note that I am not the previous expert that has came into the conversation that we had. It is a scam and if they were detaining her you need to call that number at the LA airport to verify if she is actually being held. But do not send any money as that is the scam they want you to send money and then you will be out and have no one to get that money back from. Please remember to rate my answer since we have been in conversation for this question.

Also to clarify TSA agents are a part of Department of Homeland Security and do have enforcement powers.
