In the remote's battery compartment, you should see 4 small switches. These switches have two positions they can each be set to.

Occasionally, one or more of these switches will accidentally get moved to its opposite position. When that happens, since the corresponding switches on the receiver were not changed to match the new setting, the receiver won't accept all commands from the remote.
