I have been on non-narcotic medications years now going

Customer Question

I have been on non-narcotic medications for 2 years now going through my physician. I have been diagnosed with chronic lower back pain and have even graduated from Pain Management classes. My physician simply will not prescribe me any narcotic pain medication whatsoever because he believes "I am too young (26 years old) and that it will ruin my life..." Life really isn't that great being in pain at all times, I'm beginning to think the other side is a shade greener. What steps do i need to take in order to prove I need these prescriptions and actually have them prescribed to me from a doctor? Even if it means starting a new relationship with a new physician? And, will this cause any problems seeing a doctor outside of my current physician?
