Customer Question

my peugeot died suddenly peugeot say timing chain failed/broke need new engine is a 2012 308 Active 1.6 Petrol turbo it had done 82000k has been serviced as per rec book
when the car stoped only indication was battery light came on
is this a concern with this car should the chain fail in such a way 80000k on the clock? also do you know what the following codes stand for ZYN,ZYR,ZYT

those codes are generated by the dealer software ? so you need that software to translate them

however a timing chain should last at least 120K miles providing the oil changes are carried out at the correct times and the correct oil is used

so I'd get in touch with the dealer and if you have a full service history then they should be making some contribution towards the repair
