Home built in the early 60s, 3m ceilings, polished jarrah

Customer Question

Home built in the early 60s, 3m ceilings, polished jarrah floors throughout home. 90 mm splayed skirting and aves. We would like a stylish classic with modern touches to our home. I have an existing old fire place that has been removed and wall plastered over. This existing fireplace wall comes out 300mm from the main wall. This space is currently used as a family room, but could be turned into just a lounge room. As you walk left into the room from the entrance foyer, through double white timber glass doors you immediately see a 55inch wall mounted smart TV on the existing fireplace wall on your right.
What would look best:
1. Option 1 - Order a Custom Built sandstone top entertainment unit (cupboard doors are antique white to match the walls) directly underneath the wall mounted Smart TV? If yes, colours of tv unit cupboard doors ok?)
We also wanted to custom build book shelves on both sides of the tv wall - shelves with doors at the bottom 700 mm afl and open shelves to the ceiling. To support the shelves, there is a frame around it. Should the shelves be done on one side of the tv unit or have it symmetrical on both sides? If only on one side, what could be put in place of the other side?
3. Option 2 - install a gas heater fire place directly underneath the Smart Tv instead of the custom built entertainment unit? Would the shelves still look good with this option?
3. Option 3 - Get rid of the mounted Tv and put in place a large mirror, a gas fire place underneath and shelves on the side?
